Thanks for the travel guide, could be useful some day, who knows… That chocolate factory tour looks like it would be high on my highlight list. It’s weird that they use a tiny toaster oven to make large(ish) batches of chocolate, but I guess it works – must be yummy!

I’m not overly worried about “cultural contamination” in this case. Regarding the food, the point is these dishes aren’t made in order to cater to Israelis, they are made because they’re compatible with local ingredients and palates. As for the language – yeah, it’s a bit annoying, but at least our folk seem to be behaving themselves. We haven’t heard or seen a single horror scene of the kind that was all too common a decade ago…

I liked the description of contemporary fashion in Guatemala, and the Tapado looks delicious! As you might be aware, the incorporation of Israeli dishes into the tourist restaurants’ menus and locals picking up Hebrew is unfortunately happening in many places in the world, in locations favored by Israelis.
