Taiwan: The East Coast

Breakfast in Ruisui before heading over the hill. A local interpretation of American fast food.

It was wet and a bit chilly, but after the first uphill we were already starting to de-layer.

We made it to the other side! To be honest I was grateful to be back on the main road without a repeat of the Liyu Lake bike chain incident.

For completeness, here we are at the Tropic of Capricorn, a long time ago in a very different place.. (Western Australia, specifically)

Baxiandong archaeological site. Nice place, but all the caves except one are closed due to trail damage, and apparently have been for years :-(

Strangely, one of the few sections that weren

Rice farming along the coast. The tractor turns the soil and exposes piles of critters, which the egrets then feast on.

It was unspeakably hot and humid on the boardwalk... We rewarded ourselves with annona-flavoured popsicles at the visitor centre.
