French Polynesia

We are back in engineer mode this year, meaning our vacation time is at a premium. After working through an elaborate calculus we decided on French Polynesia for a two week getaway. We wanted to visit three islands is the Society group: Mo’orea, Huahine, and Maupiti. Reconciling the itinerary with Air Tahiti’s flight schedules meant also spending a day each in Raiatea and Tahiti.

For planning we used two guidebooks plus the forums at Tahiti Explorer, but as usual there wasn’t much detailed planning ahead of time aside from accommodation and transfers. We are always in awe of people who have the patience to put together day-by-day schedules for such trips before even leaving the house.
